Five Star Hunters is excited to announce that we will return with our IEA Middle and High School team for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Joining IEA is an excellent opportunity for current riders and those new to the sport. If you are unfamiliar with the IEA, I have included for you an overview of the mission of IEA and why it is an excellent opportunity for your child. I have also included an overview of the cost and commitment that all riders will require. With eight years competing in IEA, I am proud to have had our kids and team make it to Regionals and Zones every year! Our team has attended Nationals three times which is no small task. We are very excited to be able to bring this opportunity to your children.
The mission of the IEA is to introduce students in private and public middle and secondary schools (grades 4th – 12th) to equestrian sports. The IEA provides an opportunity for student riders to be introduced to the sport through competitive shows. Scholarship offerings are made available to those wishing to pursue a career in equestrian sports. The IEA generally promotes the common interest of riding instruction, competition, and education in matters related to the horse industry and all segments thereof.
Why should you join IEA?
The unique aspect of the competitions, both at the local and national level, is that horse ownership is not required. Instead, the host team provides horses and equipment to each rider at every event. Since the horse is new to the rider, the scores are based on horsemanship and equitation. The format levels the playing field while maintaining affordability for participants.
